Pincess St Plaster Work

In this video, you see Emily Millar trying out her new skills on-site. The job was to re-point the internal wall of this heritage building, so with a little guidance she was able to complete the job.

Adding Dye to Mix

In this video, you will see the process of mixing dye to your lime mortar mix. Limiting the amount of dye in your mix will determine the colour you want to achieve.

Caution when mixing outside you should note the direction of the wind, do not stand so that the lime and/or mixture could come in contact with skin or eyes.

Adding Mortar to Wall

In this video you will see William Oaks (our Trainer and Assessor) showing his students how to plaster a wall at Hawthorn Estates ltd.

Mixing Mortar

In this video, you see the process in making Lime mortar.  From adding lime to letting the mixture cure.

Preparing The Wall

In this video you will see William Oaks (our trainer and assessor) preparing his work area for plaster work – the joint should be dust-free and watered before plastering.

Hacking Out

In this video you will see William Oaks (our trainer and assessor) hacking out a wall with a crack. By removing some of the old plaster you are allowing room for the new plaster to be placed and strengthen the wall.
